Occupation

What motivates us to wake up each morning and look forward to another new day at work?

Is it the income at the end of each month?

Is it for mere survival purposes?

It is possible to have a long list of questions asking ourselves the reasons we secure a job, perhaps it is a job that is very satisfying for us or it could be just a job for the sole purpose of ensuring there will be an income at the end of the day.

Someone had shared, which stick to my mind until this day. He said that when it is easy at the begining of your career, that you built up the kind of job you want, the status you need, all the promotions you had received so far. But it will come to one day, when you have accummulated all these success, either by climbing up the corporate ladder or by horizontal promotion; the contribution you give to your employer is no longer equivalent to the $$$ you receive at the end. In this instance, what is the motivating factor in keeping us to want to go into the office each day? It is the mere fact of knowing that you are satisfied with yourselves on the contribution of work you have done for the day. It is knowing that you have some kind of job satisfaction that will keep us continue in our job even knowing there will not be any further promotions within that organisation.
